Many north indians dont like it cos u cannot expect Hindi there....but yes u will get Bhel Puri and Pani puris for sure. But in bangalore things are started improving but slowly in recent times. My experiences were different. The last time I went to chennai, the people out there were helpful and friendly. To me Chennaites respect the elderly, the educated.
I am not from Chennai (but was born in that city) may be that the reason why i have some sort of affection to that city.
