Romance.. Romance!

Romantic songs from old movies are the ones that still appeal to me. We still remember the songs such as “senthamizh then
mozhiyal“, parthen sirithen etc when we talk about romantic songs. Now with a plethora of FM radio broadcasts, I really enjoy listening to music till late midnight.
I think alaipayuthey was the last romantic film I ever liked. Its been seven years and none of the films really impressed me after alaipayudhe. I don’t know but people think that a romance or love movie should end in catharsis. Yet its the contrary that movies like alaipayudhe express subtle feelings and are remembered for a long time.
Today we were talking about the movie maalayitta mangai(1958).. It was the first film of Manorama and I think kannadasan produced that movie. TR Mahalingam was the hero. It is in this movie the unforgettable “Senthamizh then mozhiyal” song appears. There are lot of discussions about this movie in the tfmpage.com website.
Apart from the “Senthamizh then mozhiyal” song, there is another beautiful romantic song in this movie - “Naanandri yar varuvar”. MSV-TKR has really done a great job in this song. Listen to the song here.
Of late I happened to see this ad in the TV…
Good cinematography and an appealing romantic theme… These days advertisements are better than the TV programs isn’t it?

Wonderful and evergreen songs they are….
I too like those songs. I can’t agree more with you about Alaipayuthey being the last best romantic movie made
I am seeing this ad for the first time only 2day
